Short version: this site collects the minimum it needs to answer your enquiry. Your details go to one inbox, you get one confirmation email, and there is no mailing list. The long version follows.

Who is responsible

Chief Growth Engineer ("CGE") is the practice of Rob Louw, based in Cape Town, South Africa. For anything in this policy, contact rob@chiefgrowthengineer.com.

What gets collected

• Contact and tool forms — name, email, and whatever you write in the message (including tool results you choose to send). Submissions are emailed to Rob and kept in a private lead log so a mail failure never loses your message. You also receive one confirmation email with a copy of what you sent.
• Free tools — the diagnostics at /tools/ run entirely in your browser. Nothing you tick or type leaves the page unless you submit the optional email form.
• Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (anonymous usage data, cookies) to understand what content is useful. No advertising audiences are built from this site.
• Server logs — the hosting provider records standard access logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and debugging.

Why (legal basis)

Form data is processed to respond to your enquiry — a legitimate interest and, where you request work, a step toward a contract. Analytics is used on the basis of legitimate interest in improving the site. This site aims to comply with South Africa's POPIA and, for visitors in the EU/UK, the GDPR.

Third parties

• Google — Analytics (GA4), Fonts, and the calendar booking page (Google Calendar appointment schedule). Booking a call happens on Google's domain under Google's privacy policy.
• Google Workspace — email delivery and storage of enquiries.
• Hosting — the site is hosted on a South African shared-hosting provider; data may transit servers there.

Your details are never sold, rented, or added to third-party marketing lists.

Retention

Enquiries are kept as ordinary business correspondence for as long as they are relevant to a working relationship or a legal obligation. Ask and they will be deleted.

Your rights

You can ask what is held about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email rob@chiefgrowthengineer.com — you will get a personal reply, not a ticket number. South African residents may also contact the Information Regulator.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date above changes with it. No silent edits.
